Welcome
Playbox Playgroup in Burgess Hill was opened in 1974 and is owned by The Burgess Hill Methodist Church. The playgroup is run jointly by two supervisors, supported by 8 assistants. We are also supported by a group of parents fundraising for us.
Our staff are all qualified having attended relevant courses on working with Pre-School children, Child Protection and First Aid training. We continue our training as new courses become available to keep updated on changes in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and in (OFSTED) standards.
The staff to children ratios that we operate are in accordance with OFSTED standards, these ratios are:
- Under 3's = 1 Adult to 4 Children
- Over 3's = 1 Adult to 8 children
Aims of the Playgroup
The aims of this playgroup are to provide a safe, secure, caring environment to encourage children to develop as individuals while catering for all needs and beliefs.
Our learning through play curriculum aims to stimulate and help all children reach their potential with support from qualified staff and in partnership with parent/carer.
